New Cross College is a Droichead school. All Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT) are supported during their first year of teaching using the Droichead model of induction and probation.

What is Droichead?

The main objective of Droichead is the professional development of NQTs by way of systematic support in the induction phase, thus laying the foundations for subsequent professional growth and development.

A key characteristic of Droichead is access by the NQT to a mentor and other experienced colleagues who form a professional support team (PST).
