I consider myself very privileged to be the Principal of the newest Secondary school in the Finglas Community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents/guardians for entrusting in us their son/daughter’s education over the next five or six years.
The core principles of our ethos and philosophy here in New Cross College is to provide a safe and caring environment for your child during their time with us.
We recognise that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We are very fortunate to have a small school community in New Cross College and one where children feel welcome, supported and included. We offer a broad curriculum and have state of the art facilities along with a full time librarian and library. We also have a Home School Community Liaison teacher (HSCL), a Behaviour for Learning teacher (BFL), a Guidance teacher and therapeutic supports from the School Completion Programme (SCP).
In New Cross College We try to educate the whole person: spiritually, emotionally, physically and intellectually. We do this through a lot of extracurricular activities that we offer from school debating, green schools committee, sports and numerous other activities we encourage your son or daughter to get involved in.
The characteristic spirit of our school is based on the values and ethos of our joint trustees Le Chéile and the Religious Sisters of Charity. Promoting a positive self-esteem attitude and mutual respect are an integral part of the atmosphere that we encourage here in New Cross College. We welcome students from all ethnic, language and special needs background and pride ourselves on the inclusivity of our student cohort.
As a new school we value our responsibility to the local community and have made great strides in building relationships with outsides agencies, local businesses and our sister schools in the Le Chéile and Religious Sisters of Charity Trusts.
