Our U-14 boys gaelic football team had a great win over St. Tiarnan’s Community School in Erin’s Isle. New Cross got off to a strong start with Michael Mirzu kicking the 1st point of the game from distance. Michael, along with Promise Akinyemi were very dominant in midfield and worked tirelessly in defence and attack playing great passes into the full forward line. Upfront New Cross showed great team work and went in 4-4 to 2-1 up at the break, with goals coming from Bobbie Malone, Spencer Lawlor, Promise Akinyemi and Tommy Kearns. St Tiarnan’s came back strong in the 2nd half but thanks to great work in defence from Brody Boyle and Callum O’Toole along with some excellent saves from Ceden Lawlor, New Cross College never really looked like losing the game. The final score: New cross college 13-7 St Tiarnan’s Community School 6-3In what was a fantastic team performance, Bobbie Malone (6-1) and Charlie Kenny (1-2) were standout performers.
